The kids have been living on their bikes this year. Emily desperately needed a bigger bike and Nathan, although he loves his balance bike, discovered the joys of a pedal bike. For weeks and weeks he and Emily took turns between the two but we were excited to be able to get them bikes to permanently transition to the next step.
Laura still has no interest in the balance bike but loves her car bike. She cruises along with the kids and they love zooming around our driveway and up the hill to the stop sign. They also ride all over the yard and have figured out lots of tricks – biking with one or even no hands, biking standing up, and making fast turns.
We’ve also gone out with the hose on hot days so I can spray them off while they are biking around. So grateful for space for them to explore life on their bikes. They integrate the Boxcar Children, Penderwicks, Magic Treehouse, and Little House stories and characters into their stories that they tell while spending hours biking outside.
